Road Trip! Powder Blue Tuxedo Boys

The Powder Blue Tuxedo Boys are in their Frolic Room RV headed for Bakersfield, California. Patrick is driving and Timothy is riding shotgun.

Timothy: Remind me why we are going on a road trip to Bakersfield?

Patrick: I’m tired of the cold rain, the fires, Mayor Bass, all of it. We gotta get out of LA for a while. Bakersfield is the opposite of Los Angeles. It’s hot, sunny, boring, and nothing changes there.

Timothy: This Town & County Motel we’re staying at looks like Perry Como is performing in the bar lounge.

Patrick: Maybe he is.

Patrick pulls the RV into the parking lot of the Town & Country Motel. They check in and go to their suite.

Timothy: This is the Honeymoon Suite. There’s a mirror over the bed and it’s a round bed.

Patrick: It’s the only suite they had.

Timothy: Hey, at least it’s close to the pool and the bar.

Patrick: It’s perfect. Let’s put on our pool wear and sit by the pool. Have some Beck’s beers.

The boys put on their powder blue velvet leisure suits, wrap-around sunglasses, and black sandals. They wear their straw fedoras with white silk hatbands. The waiter brings their beers, and they relax, enjoying the quiet, the boredom, and the hot, dry air.

Two older women in sexy pool outfits walk over to our heroes.

The brunette says: Hi, I’m Monica.

The blonde says: Hi, I’m Susie.

Patrick and Timothy return the introductions.

Monica: You boys are new in town.

Susie: We saw your wonderful RV come into the parking lot. Maybe you’d like to take us for a ride sometime.

Patrick: Sure! Sure. Please sit down. Can we get you something to drink?

Monica: Some iced teas would be nice.

Timothy motions over to the waiter, who already has the iced teas on his tray.

Timothy: The waiter must be a clairvoyant.

The Powder Blue Tuxedo Boys spend a pleasant afternoon drinking and talking with Monica and Susie. Many drinks are consumed. They then all go to dinner and have more drinks.

Monica: Susie and I are getting tired, but we’d love to see the Honeymoon Suite. We’ve always wanted to see it.

Patrick: Sure! Sure. No problem. It’s like a museum.
The usual ensues, and the women spend the night. The next morning, Patrick and Timothy wake up around noon. The girls are gone, and so are their wallets.

Timothy: You said Bakersfield would be boring.

Patrick: At least the mirror on the ceiling came in handy.

Timothy: The round bed was confusing.

Patrick: I think that was the idea.

Timothy: I think they were twins.

Patrick: Hence, the confusion.

Monica and Susie are driving their 1967 gold Mustang convertible down the freeway.

Susie: Those powder blue boys sure were energetic last night.
Monica: Which reminds me, we need to buy more KY jelly.

Susie: They were kinda cute.

Monica: And they had lots of cash in their wallets.

Susie: Are you thinking what I’m thinking?
Monica: Maybe it’s the beginning of a beautiful friendship.
