Jurassic Park
November 26th, 2024
It was all just a dream, ya know.
Seems like to me.
Taking the kids to the mall in tow.
A new show to see.
Star Wars to Jurassic Park
Aliens, lasers, Indy Jones, and T-Rex.
We’d sit in the dark,
Eat popcorn, drink soda, at the multiplex.
The Northgate Mall was the place to be.
The Northgate Theater was old history.
Just one big screen and lots of seats.
A soundproof baby’s room
For the Moms and their teats.
After the show, we’d walk next door to Red Robin.
Burgers, fries, milkshakes, ahhh, all forgotten.
Quarters for Asteroids, Space Invaders, and Pac-Man
The digital world, ahh, how it began.
The analog world was on the run.
No more malls. No more theaters. No more fun.
Even the Red Robin is fading away.
All gone on the digital screens of today.
It was all a dream, ya know.
Sitting with the kids watching the show.
Giving ‘em quarters
As I drank my beer.
I didn’t see it all ending,
I didn’t know it’d gone queer.
I didn’t see Jobs and Gates
Destroying the world.
I didn’t see what was coming.
The future unfurled.
But here it is
In all its glory.
The world I knew is gone.
That’s the end of the story.
It was all just a dream, ya know.
Seems like to me.
