The Titanic: Powder Blue Tuxedo Boys: June 29th, 2023
It is a beautiful late June afternoon in Los Angeles, California. The Powder Blue Tuxedo Boys are at the Frolic Room Bar on Hollywood Boulevard having some Becks Beers.
They are watching CNN showing the wreckage of the Titan submersible being put ashore. The Titan imploded in the deep while taking five rich white guys down to see the wreck of the Titanic.
Patrick: The Disneyland submarine ride is safer.
Timothy: And more fun.
Eddie the Bartender interjects: Dudes! The submarine ride closed in ’98. You guys need to get out more.
Patrick: This is tragic. Those five rich white guys all dead while on a three hour tour.
Timothy: Well, I guess there was no Skipper nor a fearless crew.
Eddie goes over to the Jukebox and plays “Yellow Submarine.”
Patrick and Timothy clink beer bottles and say in unison: Tragic.
Patrick’s phone on the bar rings. He answers the phone.
Patrick: Yeah? Pause. Sure. We can do that. Pause. Okay, but the dead guys were on the Titan, not the Titanic. Pause. Well, yes, it is confusing. We’ll send it off to you in an hour or so. Pause. A bonus? Oh, that is very generous of you.
Timothy gives his usual questioning gaze.
Patrick: It was Kamalatoe. She wants us to write a quick something for her to say as she talks about the crew of the Titan. Kamalatoe said they were big Democratic Party donors and she wants to do something nice for their families.
Timothy: Like what?
Patrick: Kamalatoe is going to have NASA send the ashes of the old white rich dead guys into space along with a piece of the Titan.
Timothy: So we write something like, “These brave explorers died in the frozen deep of the ocean. Now their remains will rest in the peaceful cold of deep space.
Patrick: “They will now rest with the stars. As they are all all stars in our hearts.”
Timothy: That should be enough. Kamalatoe can only remember four lines at most.
Patrick: It’s perfect. I’ll send it off to her.
The boys order more Becks and play “Too Many Fish in the Sea” on the jukebox followed by “Starry, Starry Night”.

I thought the father and son were Indian millionaires. Maybe that helps explain why Kamalatoes likes them.
